It’s always the husband, right?
Things are not looking good for Nick Dunne. It’s his five-year-anniversary and his wife Amy has disappeared, leaving behind only her anniversary gift for Nick, signs of a struggle in the living room and traces of blood on the kitchen floor.

As the narrator, Nick is captivating. He is likeable, he is relatable…he is clearly lying about something. He hides his secrets from the police and from readers, so we know he cannot be trusted. But how long can the secrets pile up before they can no longer be ignored and you begin to wonder…does Nick have what it takes to be a murderer?
Nick’s affable demeanor is not enough to deter the questions. Why are there no witnesses to confirm where he was that morning? Why does his cynical account of their marriage not match up with Amy’s love-struck diary entries? How did he not have anything prepared for their anniversary, and whose calls has he been ignoring?
Through Nick’s eyes and Amy’s diary entries unfolds a deviously crafty twist. This delightfully cunning mystery has just the right mix of wit and creepiness to keep you reading until you figure out the biggest question of all—where is Amy?
