Oct. 27 @ Bucknell: Patriot League Championships

The men’s and women’s cross country teams finished out their regular seasons at the Patriot League Championships on Sunday. Both teams finished eighth out of 10, with sophomore Mike Neeson leading the way for the men with a 45th place finish and freshman Autumn Sands finishing first for the women in 33rd place. Multiple other members of both teams had good races and set new personal records, despite the muddy conditions.

Football (3-5) (2-2)

Oct. 27 @ Fordham

W, 21-13

Football saw its second straight Patriot League win this past weekend, beating Fordham in the Bronx, N.Y. Despite the inclement weather conditions, the team had 302 yards total, including 22 pass yards and 280 rushing yards. Freshman defensive lineman Malik Hamm helped the defense deter Fordham from scoring with three sacks during the game.

Field Hockey (8-10) (4-2)

Oct. 27 @ Bucknell

L, 4-1

The field hockey team fell to Bucknell in their final regular season game on Saturday. They did, however, have advantages in shots, 11-8, and penalty corners, 7-3. In the 57th minute, sophomore forward Grace Angelella was able to break through and score. The team’s next stop is the Patriot League Championship tournament.

Golf

FGCU Classic

Fifth (out of nine)

The golf team concluded their final match of the fall portion of its schedule with a fifth place finish at the FGCU Classic. Nine teams participated in the match. Their three round total was 920 and they finished two shots behind the host team. Sophomore Cole Berger led the team, finishing T-16.

Volleyball (5-19) (0-12)

Oct. 27 vs. Colgate

L, 3-0

The Leopards dropped three sets to Colgate this past weekend. Freshman outside hitter Grace Tulevech continued to make outstanding plays, however, racking up a total of six kills. Her junior teammate, captain Katrina Ruggiero, had five kills and six digs.

Women’s Soccer (5-12) (2-7)

Oct. 27 vs Loyola Maryland

W, 3-1

The women’s soccer team closed out their season with a Senior Day win. After struggling through a scoreless first half, the team was able to put three goals in the back of the net, scored by sophomores midfielder Sophie Saldivar, defender/midfielder Camryn Monfort, and forward Krista Kissell. The Greyhounds were also able to score in the second half. The team ends their season with a 5-12 records overall and a 2-7 record in the Patriot League.

Men’s soccer (5-7-4) (1-4-3)

Oct. 27 @ American

T, 1-1

After being scored on in the first half by opponents American, the Leopards were able to tie it up early in the second half. Junior Adam Bramson netted the ball after an assist from sophomore Andrew Venezia. The 1-1 score lasted throughout the rest of the game and all the way through overtime. Freshman goalkeeper Alex Sutton also had a big game, totaling six saves.
