Football (0-4)

Sept 23 vs. Princeton

L, 38-17

Princeton’s 28 straight points scored in the second and third quarters were enough to sink the Leopards in their last game before Patriot League play. Freshman QB Sean O’Malley threw for 325 yards and completed 30-44, both career highs. Senior Dylan Wadsworth and junior Joey Chenoweth put two touchdowns on the board for Lafayette.

Men’s Soccer (1-7-0) (1-0-0)

Sept 20 vs Albany

L, 1-0 (OT)

Lafayette limited the nation’s seventh ranked offense to just one goal last Wednesday, but couldn’t get their own offense going in overtime to secure the win. The defense allowed only three shots to make it back to senior goalie Brian Ehrlich.

Sept 23 vs Bucknell

W, 1-0

The opening of Patriot League play was good to the soccer team as they recorded their first win of the season. Senior Chris Moyse netted the only goal the team would need in the 42nd minute and Ehrlich had one save in the win.

Field Hockey (5-4) (1-1)

Sept 23 at Boston University

L, 5-1

Three first half goals were more than enough to sink the Leopards against 20th ranked Boston University. Senior Ellen Colbourne scored Lafayette’s only goal in the 34th minute of the contest and Lafayette fell to 1-1 in Patriot League play.

Sept 24 at Harvard

L, 6-1

Lafayette didn’t fare much better against 16th ranked Harvard. Sophomore Caroline Turnbull opened up the scoring in the game, but the Crimson netted six unanswered to run away with the win.

Women’s Soccer (2-4-2) (0-1-1)

Sept 23 at Holy Cross

T, 1-1 (2OT)

Freshman Krista Kissell scored her first career goal late in the second half to force overtime, but neither team could find the game winner after 110 minutes of play. Freshman Maggie Pohl and senior Kelly O’Brien combined for nine saves for the Leopards.

Volleyball (3-11) (1-1)

Sept 22 vs Holy Cross

W, 3-1

A back and forth match went the Leopards’ way as the team beat Holy Cross in their Patriot League opener. Senior Tori Smith had a double-double with 10 kills and 14 digs. Lafayette won 25-23, 21-25, 27-25, 25-21.

Sept 23 vs Army West Point

L, 3-0

Lafayette fell back to 1-1 on a young Patriot League season after losing in straight sets to Army. Key runs at key times for the Black Knights kept all of the sets slightly out of reach for the Leopards who lost 25-21, 25-16, 25-19. Freshman Lexie Caraveo had a team-high 11 digs.
