Baseball (3-32)

April 8 @ Navy

L, 4-1

The Leopards couldn’t capitalize offensively, as they scattered six hits in the game. Senior Trevor Houck went six innings, striking out three batters while only giving up two runs.

 

April 8 @ Navy

L, 10-5

After a back and forth game through the first six innings, the Midshipmen scored seven unanswered runs in the seventh inning to take a convincing lead over the Leopards and win the game.

 

April 9 @ Navy

L, 7-1

Lafayette’s offense yet again couldn’t muster anything, as they only scored one run on an RBI single from sophomore Dan Leckie.

 

April 9 @ Navy

L, 9-6

The Midshipmen completed the series sweep over the Leopards after sparking a late comeback down three runs in the seventh inning.

 

April 11 vs. Rutgers

L, 28-4

The Scarlet Knights were too much for the Leopards, as they scored seven runs in the first inning and never looked back, posting an incredible 28 runs in the non-conference game.

 

 

Men’s Lacrosse (2-10)

April 8 vs. Holy Cross

L, 10-5

In a defensive battle, the Leopards couldn’t come away with the victory on senior day. Sophomore Conor Walters and senior Jason Sands each scored two goals in the game.

 

April 11 vs. New Jersey Institute of Technology
W, 12-11

The Leopards got back into the win column after going winless for the past month. Junior Eric Joseph scored three goals, while Walters tallied six points, netting three goals and adding three assists.

 

Women’s Lacrosse (9-4)

April 8 @ Boston University

L, 20-16

After starting their Patriot League play undefeated, the Leopards dropped their first conference game of the season. Sophomore Jane Kirby led the way for the Leopards offensively, scoring six goals on the afternoon.

 

Softball (4-18)

April 8 vs. Army

L, 6-2

The Leopards only recorded one hit on the afternoon, coming from sophomore Maddie Wensel who also knocked in two runs.

 

April 8 vs. Army

L, 8-7

Junior Samantha Sweigart had three hits but the Leopards came up just short against the Golden Knights. Junior Stephanie Thomas had two RBI in the game.

 

April 9 vs. Army

L, 1-0

It was a pitching duel, but Thomas’s effort came up just short as the Leopards were no-hit by the Golden Knights.

 

April 12 vs. Villanova

L, 4-0

Sweigart and freshman Alexis Randall both had a pair of hits, but the Leopards were unable to plate any runs for the second game in a row.

 

April 12 vs. Villanova

L, 6-2

Sweigart continued to lead the offense, collecting another couple of hits, but the offense was not good enough as the Leopards fell to the Wildcats to lose the two game series.

 

 

Men’s Tennis (6-12)

April 9 @ Bucknell

L, 7-0

The Leopards were swept in all matches, with freshman Blake Oslan being to only one to win a set in the match.

 

 

Women’s Tennis (6-11)

April 9 @ Bucknell

L, 6-1

Freshman Grace Conrad won the only singles match and secured the lone point for the Leopards against the Bison.

 

 

Track and Field

April 8 vs. Lehigh

M: L, 114-89; W: L, 132-71

The Leopards were able to take 11 events in the dual meet against the Mountain Hawks. Senior Drew Davis had a PR in the 200m and recorded the fourth fastest time in school history, while fellow senior Tessa Broholm also had a PR in the 400m hurdles and had the sixth fastest time in school history in the event. Freshman Justin Johnson had a breakout performance, recording a PR in the 100m and 200m while also competing on two first place relay teams.
