The defense set the tone early for the Leopards, forcing four turnovers in just the first quarter alone. Senior QB Drew Reed completed 31 passes for 316 yards and connected with junior Matt Mrazek for three touchdowns.

Sept. 4 vs. NJIT
Lafayette has continued to improve on their historic start to the season with a 1-1 tie against NJIT. Senior goalkeeper Danielle Sedillo had seven saves, while Melissa Lynskey netted her sixth goal of the season to keep the Leopards undefeated.
Men’s Soccer (0-4)
Sept. 2 vs. Fairfield
Two late goals plagued the Leopards at Mike Bourger Field on Friday night. Lafayette surrendered the first goal to the Stags in the 55th minute, which was followed by a goal on a penalty kick in the 74th minute to hand the Leopards a 2-0 loss.
Sept. 4 @ Quinnipiac
Goals have continued to elude the Leopards to start the 2016 campaign, as the team has failed to score in each of its first four games. Despite outshooting Quinnipiac 17-8, the Leopards failed to find the back of the net and lost their fourth straight contest. Lafayette’s junior goalkeeper Brad Seeber had three saves on the day.
Field Hockey (2-1)
Sept. 2 @ Monmouth
The Leopards were shutout by the Hawks despite outshooting Monmouth 11-8 and receiving 15 corners while giving up just three corners to the opposition. Monmouth was able to breach the Lafayette defense for goals twice in the first half and once in the second half off a penalty stroke call.
Sept. 4 vs. Longwood
Lafayette remained unbeaten on their home field with a 2-1 win over Longwood University. The Leopards again outshot the opponent 14-5, with goals by junior Rosie Shanks and senior Amanda Magadan to secure the victory.
Sept. 2 vs. Fairleigh Dickinson
The Leopards notched their first victory of the 2016 season in a four set match in the Cross Town Tournament at Kirby Sports Center. Senior outside hitter Jet Manzi recorded her first double-double of the year with 18 kills, 13 digs and four aces, while junior defensive specialist Katie Kidder had a team high 21 digs.
Sept. 3 vs. Providence
Lafayette fell to a skilled Providence team in three sets in their second match of the Crosstown Tournament. Freshman outside hitter Sonia Musso had 10 kills and six digs, while freshman setter Julia Howard had 24 assists.
Sept. 3 vs. Saint Peter’s
In their final match of the tournament, the Leopards defeated Saint Peter’s 3-0, led by nine kills by both freshman outside hitter Katrina Reggiero and junior right side hitter Tori Smith. Howard had 34 assists in the match, while Kidder totaled 12 digs. Following the match, Kidder was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Men: Fourth of five teams
Women: Third of six teams
Sophomore Emily Moore finished third with a time of 14:52.11 in the women’s 4K race to lead the Leopard women. Sophomore David Sadvary finished 17th with a time of 20:15.18 in the men’s 6K to take the top spot for the men’s team.
