Volleyball (11-16) (3-13)
Sept. 23 at Lehigh
Their first match was in Bethlehem where they won in straight sets, 3-0, to notch their first Patriot League victory of the year. Freshman Maria Balus led the team with 30 assists and senior Brianne Giangiobbe added 11 kills.
Oct. 21 vs. Lehigh
In their second match with the Mountain Hawks, Lehigh returned the favor and defeated the Leopards in straight sets, 3-0. The loss extended the Leopards losing streak at the time to six games.
Men’s Soccer (5-8-5) (2-5-1)
Oct. 29 at Lehigh
Sophomore Brian Ehrlich was able to make six saves in the contest, but Lafayette’s inability to put the ball in the net for the fifth straight game was the deciding factor in a 2-0 loss to the Mountain Hawks. The Leopards were able to put six shots on goal and 15 total.
Women’s Soccer (8-7-1) (2-6-1)
Oct. 21 at Lehigh
In one of their most thrilling games of the season, the women’s soccer team fell to Lehigh in double overtime, 1-0. Although they doubled the Mountain Hawks shots on goal 8-4, the Leopards succumbed to defeat when they conceded a goal in the 103rd minute.
Sept. 19 vs. Lehigh
Both the men’s team, 50-15, and the women’s team, 44-19, fell against Lehigh in the dual meet. Senior Stephanie Benko had the best performance of the day, posting a time of 23:34.38 to finish second overall for the women. Junior Kelvin Serem led the way for the men, posting a time of 26:58.19 to finish 12th out of 28 runners.
Field Hockey (9-10) (3-3)
Oct. 3 at Lehigh
Lafayette was able to hand Lehigh their seventh straight loss at the time, winning by a score of 2-1. Junior Amanda Magadan was able to put the Leopards up early, and after Lehigh tied it, junior Ami Turner scored to seal a Lafayette victory.
Oct. 13 at Lehigh
The men’s golf team took on Lehigh in the President’s Cup, a fairly new, annual tournament against the Mountain Hawks. Lafayette won by a score of 9-7 due to standout performances by sophomores James Frahm and Art Griffin, as well as freshman Patrick McGinley who lead the tournament in total points with 2.5.
