Mens Soccer (2-1-2)

September 4 – Lafayette vs. Cornell

W, 2-1

Sophomore Chris Moyse bailed the Leopards out in the final seconds of the game, sliding in to reject a last second goal attempt. Freshamn Joe Destefano and senior Greg Biggiani hit the mark to secure the win.

September 6 – Lafayette vs.  Bryant

T, 1-1

A beautiful free-kick from sophomore Ben Marks brought Lafayette level in the 48th minute to secure an unbeaten record thus far.  Marks has enjoyed an impressive start to the season with one goal and three assists in just four games.

September 9 – Lafayette vs. Saint Francis Brooklyn

L, 1-0

Lafayette’s unbeaten streak ended in the 101st minute when SFBK’s Vincent Bezecourt scored on keeper sophomore Brad Seeber. The Leopards were the fourth straight team to remain goalless against the Terriers.

Field Hockey (3-0-1)

September 4 – Lafayette vs. Longwood

W, 4-3

Junior forward Amanda Magadan opened up the scoring for Lafayette 15 minutes in, tallying her third goal of the season.  She finished her night off by assisting the winning goal, scored by junior midfielder Ami Turner.

September 6 – Lafayette vs. Liberty

L, 2-1

Senior forward Katie Birle’s fourth goal of the season was enough to draw the Leopards’ even for just 3 minutes as Liberty fought back and handed Lafayette their first loss of the season.

Womens Soccer (3-0-1)

September 3 – Lafayette vs. Monmouth NJ

W, 3-2

Freshman midfielder Annika Sheehan started her Lafayette scoring record with a bang, finding the back of the net in overtime to secure the team’s third win of the season.

September 6 – Lafayette vs. Manhattan

L, 3-0

The lady Leopards suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Manhattan’s junior midfielder Erica Modena, who scored an impressive hat trick.

Volleyball (4-1)

September 4 – Lafayette vs. Fairleigh Dickinson, Lafayette vs. St. Peters

W, 3-0

W, 3-2

Lafayette women impressed in the first day of the Crosstown Tournament, beating Fairleigh Dickinson in straight sets and edging out St. Peters.  Senior Lauren Pisauro anchored the defense overall with 24 digs.

September 6 – Lafayette vs. Morehead State, Lafayette vs. Marist

W, 3-2

W, 3-2

A pair of 5 set wins sent the Lafayette women to a 4-1 start on the season.  Senior Brianne Giangiobbe tallied 16 kills, while freshman Maria Balus helped out with 36 kills and 13 digs.

Football (0-1-0)

September 5- Lafayette vs. William & Mary

L, 34-7

Junior quarterback Blake Searfoss found senior tight-end Bobby DePietro for the Leopard’s lone touchdown on the evening and DePietro’s first of his career.

Golf

September 4-6, Lafayette at Colgate Invitational

Tie Fourth Place

Sophomore Art Griffin led the Leopards by finishing second in a three-man playoff, helping the team to tie for fourth place with the host Colgate.

Cross Country

September 5, Lafayette at Monmouth XC Kick-Off

Both men’s and women’s cross country finished second led by outstanding performances from junior Kelvin Sarem and senior Stephanie Benko.
