Sports Recap Central: 02/20/2015

Men’s Basketball (15-11, 7-8)

February 11 – Lafayette at Loyola

L, 62-43

Sophomore point guard Nick Linder was the only Leopards in double figures against the Greyhounds, scoring 12 points. Senior Dan Trist also added eight.

February 14 – Lafayette at American

L, 88-77

Four Lafayette players scored in double figures, including junior Bryce Scott with 24, sophomore Nick Linder with 13 and senior Dan Trist and Seth Hinrichs with 12 a piece.

February 18 – Lafayette vs. Holy Cross

W, 89-81

The men’s basketball team was able to snap a three game losing streak, beating the Crusaders in which all five starters scored in double figures. Senior Dan Trist had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Women’s Basketball (12-14, 5-10)

February 11 – Lafayette vs. Loyola

W, 69-63

The women’s basketball team snapped a three game losing streak against Loyola last Wednesday night. Senior Emily Homan recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

February 14 – Lafayette vs. American

L, 74-58

Despite the loss, senior Emily Homan recorded her second straight double-double, scoring 24 points and grabbing 12 boards. Junior Jamie O’Hare also had 14 points to go along with seven assists

February 18 – Lafayette at Holy Cross

L, 58-53

Senior Emily Homan had 21 points and senior guard Maddie Peabody added 11. The team made just four of 17 three point shots.

Men’s Lacrosse (1-0, 0-0)

February 13 – Lafayette at Wagner

W, 10-5

Senior Sonny Round was able to score two goals and three shots. The team outscored the Seahawks 3-0 in the third quarter to seal the victory.

Women’s Lacrosse (0-2, 0-0)

February 13 – Lafayette at Monmouth

L, 10-3

Sophomore Kristen Wilhelmsen scored a goal and added an assist on the day. Sophomore Maggie Carver and junior Melissa Galione each added a goal.

February 17 – Lafayette at Delaware

L, 22-2

Sophomore Kristen Wilhelmsen scored in her second straight game to open the season.
