Shoop suspended for tonight’s game against Penn

By Michael Kelley ’14 & Ben Brown ’14

Quarterback Andrew Shoop ‘13 has been suspended for tonight’s game against the University of Pennsylvania for a violation of team rules. At this time, the violation is undisclosed.

Starting in his place is Zach Zweizig ‘15, a 6’5, 220 pound Wyomissing, PA native. Zwiezig will be making his collegiate debut.

Shoop, whose captaincy was revoked, threw for 189 yards and a touchdown in last week’s 17-14 victory against William & Mary.

According to sources, Shoop will be available to play next week when Lafayette (1-0) plays at Bucknell.

Last season against Penn, Shoop completed 14 of 23 passes for 230 yards and four touchdowns.
