Assistant coach becomes a Scarlet Knight

By Michael Kelley ’14

The Lafayette men’s basketball team’s top assistant Josh Leoffler is leaving the Leopards for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights as their new Director of Basketball Operations.

Leoffler spent four years on Head Coach Fran O’Hanlon’s staff, working both on the sideline and on the road as the recruiting coordinator.

“Josh is a terrific young coach who has brought so much to our program,” O’Hanlon said to goleopards.com. “We certainly appreciate all of his contributions. We will miss him and we wish him the absolute best at Rutgers.”

Loeffler began coaching as an assistant at Hamilton College before assuming the same position at Williams College. From there, he went on to be the head coach of Stevens Institute of Technology, directing his squad to a 46-13 record in two years, before coming to Lafayette.

O’Hanlon said the position will be filled in the coming weeks.
