NFL Prospects in Lehigh Valley

By Michael Kelley ’14

Kevin Doty is not the only NFL hopeful in the Lehigh Valley. Wide receiver and former teammate Mitch Bennett has also been working out and attending pro-days, hoping to get a call from an NFL team.

Seventeen miles down the road, three Lehigh athletes are working toward the same goal. Quarterback Chris Lum, who threw for 4378 yards and 32 touchdowns last season, has been working with Scott Brunner, a former University of Delaware quarterback who was drafted by the New York Giants in 1980. Brunner has previously worked with current Ravens quarterback, Joe Flacco.

Joining Lum is receiver Jake Drwal and tight end Troy McKenna.

“You always want to take a shot because you don’t want to be sitting around 20 years later full of regret,” McKenna said to the Easton Express. “You always have to take your shots and do what you want to do.”

Those are the words these five prospects are living by on the path to their ultimate dream.
